US Supreme Court Justices

I painted the Supreme Court Justices for two reasons. One, I had a square panel to fill and nine faces were going to fit perfectly. Two, my patroness asked me to start doing more recognizable faces. I didn’t intend to compete with professional portrait artists, like John Singer Sergeant, but just to render them loosely in a contemporary style. One thing is clear; women smile a lot more than men, and a lot wider, too.
